South Bay Newsletter (July 8th)
News, events, and the inside scoop on the greatest place on earth.
What’s up SB peeps!
Hope you had a great 4th.
Literally no place better in the world to spend it.
Here’s what’s good in the SB this week 👇
Best July 4th Marketing Goes To… 🐱
So I’m sitting out on the patio, enjoying the July 4th breeze, cold drink in my left hand, burger in my right, good friends and family around…
And something in the distance catches my eye.
Does that say what I think it does?
Our whole crew stops what they’re doing to look.
After multiple confirmations, we agreed.
Well done, Target.
Who knew you had it in you?
We literally saw this from MILES away.
Guess that’s the whole point of an ad.
Nothing like a little anatomy during your 4th of July BBQ!
Events 🏟️

July 11: Western Summer Soire. Get your cowgirl on at this women’s networking event. (read more)
July 12: Glow in the dark Volleyball. Wait, that’s a thing?! Whether playing or spectating, this is pretty cool. (read more)
July 14: Elvis Concert at Polliwog Park. Relive the King. He’s back in town. (read more)
Food 🌮
There’s a well-known staple in the South Bay.
But we’ve been frequenting it recently, so we felt it deserved a mention.
If you need some VIBES in your life, try this:
Take a walk down the strand, grab a breakfast burrito from Java Man, walk out to the Hermosa Pier, and enjoy the morning waves with sed-burrito in hand.
The burrito is like $5 (maybe a little more).
Where else can you get a burrito for $5 anymore?
I know it’s not a “hole in the wall” spot that you’ve never heard of before…but it’s a local staple, and worthy of praise.
Go check back in with them.
Local Business Spotlight 💡
You know what they say…
Look good — feel good.
And there’s nothing more rejuvenating than a fresh, clean hair cut.
Easiest way to feel like a million bucks, if you ask me.
Our good friend Alec over at “The Ave Barbershop & Salon” does it right.
Perfect lines. Beautiful trims.
It’s as simple as this:
Walk in as your standard 7/10
Get trimmed up
Walk out like a brand new 10/10
Simple.
You can book with Alec here.
Know someone who runs a local business in the South Bay? We’d love to feature them. Reply to this email & give me some backstory.
