July 22nd (South Bay Newsletter)

News, events, and the inside scoop on the greatest place on earth.

What’s up SB peeps!

It’s a beautiful summer day.

All is good in the hood!

Here’s what’s up in the SB this week 👇

“They can’t arrest us all” 🚓

I had a friend in high school.

Let’s call him Austin.

Whenever our friend group of teenage boys engaged in shenanigans (sometimes less than legal), Austin had a saying.

“Let’s just do it. They can’t arrest us all.”

His theory was sort of like the grizzly bear thing.

You know — where they say that if you’re hiking with your friend, you don’t need to outrun the bear...just the friend.

It’s a numbers thing.

The strong will survive.

And Austin was pretty confident in his theory.

Well, tell that to the 70 teenage hooligans who were detained at the South Bay Pavillon Mall due to “sporadic thefts.”

I guess they can arrest them all.

Sorry, Austin.

Food 🌮

There’s an exciting new addition on the way.

An old banger made new.

Tacos El Goloso is apparently opening another location. This time, a full on cantina. Right in downtown Hermosa.

This is quite convenient considering that I smash some birria tacos at least once a week. (If you haven’t tried them yet, what are you doing with your life?)

And now, I can get the full on cantina experience.

Mexico in la States.

Also — Tacos El Goloso, if you’re reading this…I have two words for you.

Mechanical. Bull.

They do that kind of thing in Mexico, right?

If not, they should.

Local Business Spotlight 💡

Looking for a fun, unique summer activity?

Look no further.

They offer adult and kid arts & crafts classes.

I bet the next Picasso will come out of the South Bay.

Some are saying the South Bay is like the Florence of California.

Well, sort of.

Go check them out!

Know someone who runs a local business in the South Bay? We’d love to feature them. Reply to this email & give me some backstory.

Yes, I’m a real person & yes I read the emails you send me
